Building a sustainable natural community with recipes and information on eating healthy with local organic naturally-grown foods and produce.

That’s what Mary’s Local Market is all about 🙂

Teaching and learning about the wonderfully delicious, healthy organic naturally grown foods around us. And finding ways to incorporate them into our everyday diet in an easy way.

The journey to Mary’s Local Market

Mary’s Local Market started with my personal desire to learn more about natural foods. Who made them and where I could buy them?

I love to cook “from scratch” and I like to try new things. To me nothing is better than getting my ingredients from the backyard or a local farmers’ market. I also like to watch cooking shows, my favorite show features small local food business.

But when I searched online to learn more about markets and small businesses, I quickly realized that there was no one place to go to for the information I wanted! I had to search for the individual businesses to learn about what they made and their natural business practices. And how did I know that what these businesses said they practiced was truly the case?

I also found there was a lot to learn about natural food. Like the difference between Organic and Certified Organic. And what about Certified Naturally Grown food? I had heard of heirloom vegetables before, but didn’t know about heritage breeds. By the way, just how “local” is Local anyway?

It was daunting.

If I was confused and frustrated, I was certain other people were too.

I decided to start a campaign to bring all this information together into a place where everyone could learn. A place where we can build a food community – a Sustainable Natural Community for anyone who wants to eat healthy and support those local businesses who provide us with the natural goodness!

Come with me on my journey to learn about the healthy treats in our local markets!
