Busy women smart life tips are simple guidelines to help you stay healthy through the hectic times that we all endure. We’ve all been there – too much to do and too little time to do it.

It doesn’t matter if it’s summer or winter. Life happens any time.

Spring brings the desire to air-out the house, to do lots of cleaning. There is Easter and Mother’s Day to prepare for. The kids are getting itchy for the school year to end.

Summer is often synonymous with beaches, ballparks and barbecues…all offering tempting snacks and treats.

As Fall approaches we rejoice the start of the school year, but that means lots of back to school shopping. And for many of us, the realization that we only have a few weeks left to enjoy some outdoor activities.

Finally Winter approaches and the holidays. Time for gift shopping, decorating, baking and dinners to attend.

It never stops!

Granted everyone, men and women, are super busy all year around. But I think women feel it more keenly. Maybe it is the nurturer in many of us. Whatever the reason or the time of the year, it is important to make sensible lifestyle choices to maintain your health (so you don’t wear yourself out!).

Go Whole Grain

Consume three or more 1-ounce servings of whole-grain products per day, along with three servings of enriched grains. Add some quinoa or chia seeds to your salad. Change things up and have a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast.

Eat Calcium Rich Foods

Consume two cups per day. Enjoy milk, cheese, yogurt, kale, broccoli or almonds just to name a few.

Find Balance Between How Much You Eat and How Active You Are

Make sure you aren’t taking in more calories than you’re using or burning. Using a mobile app to help you track your daily diet and exercise are convenient tools to use.

Eliminate Trans Fats From Your Diet

Trans fats have been linked to increased risk of heart disease. Look for no trans fats on the label.

Get Active

Engaging in regular physical activity and reducing sedentary activities promote good health. Take the stairs instead of the elevator when possible. Park at the opposite side of the mall when you’re doing all that shopping. When you move you feel better in body and soul.

Size Does Matter

Buying treats in small, individual packages for portion control helps to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Use a salad plate instead of the dinner plate. It gives the appearance of a full plate without filling you up.

Get Some ME Time

Finding a few moments to unplug, relax or meditate is crucial to your overall health. Getting some down time to unwind helps to clear your head and gives your body a quick rest. And spoiling yourself once in a while just feels good 🙂
